dowdy johnston

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Dowdy has lived in Chattanooga for more than twenty-five years.  As a professional she has had two careers.  As an elementary school teacher in Florida she found her love was teaching fourth graders, and those students responded to her love and kindness by returning to her the same.  To this day some of the parents of those students remain friends.  For many years she has been a teacher and leader of women in the churches where she has served.  She has discipled and mentored women many years her junior, and those many years her senior.  Her calling in this ministry has been evident to those who have watched.  God’s calling on Dowdy’s life came full circle when she came to the realization that God was calling her into a counseling ministry.   Accepting that call to counseling also meant accepting a call to prepare for a counseling ministry.  Upon attaining her Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling she then passed the licensing exam to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  Until her retirement in 2019 Dowdy had a large faith- based counseling practice in Chattanooga that included marriage and family counseling, individual counseling, and group counseling.  Dowdy is a graduate of the University of North Florida and The Psychological Studies Institute (now Richmont Graduate University).  She now brings her training, skills and experience as a teacher and counselor to Path2Truth.

katie johnston

Katie is the technical whiz behind everything that happens at Path2Truth.   Katie not only serves as Technical Director for Path2Truth, but also leads all the work done in Media Development services for the organization.  In Media Development services she has responsibility for developing and managing all internal media programs, but also leads the marketing and sales for website design, media marketing planning and design, publishing, printing and editorial services.   Katie earned her BS degree in Mass Communication from UT-Chattanooga and completed an Editorial Internship in New York, NY.  She has written for a number of periodicals and publications and is an accomplished photographer and videographer.  She also served as Product Marketing Manager for a major retailer of commercial office fixtures.  Katie is most at home outdoors.   Whether it’s on her farm with the livestock and chickens - or growing organic food that is consumed in many local restaurants – or camping, hiking, or shooting – or playing with her dog Scout - it is the soil that captures her heart.   As it turns out, Katie’s favorite vehicle is a pickup truck.
